<p>In Florida, hurricane season is something communities can’t afford to overlook.</p>

<p>As storms become more active throughout the summer months, now is the time for Community Association Managers and boards to ensure pool areas and equipment are properly prepared.</p>

<p>Waiting until a storm is approaching often creates unnecessary stress and limits options for preventative action.</p>

<p>A proactive plan helps:</p>

<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>Protect valuable equipment and amenities</li>

<li>Reduce potential damage and costly repairs</li>

<li>Improve post-storm recovery time</li>

<li>Minimize disruptions for residents</li>
</ul>

<hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity"/>

<p><strong>Key Areas Communities Should Review:</strong><br><img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/16.0.1/72x72/2714.png" alt="✔" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /> Pool equipment and electrical systems</p>

<p><img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/16.0.1/72x72/2714.png" alt="✔" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /> Deck drainage and surrounding surfaces</p>

<p><img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/16.0.1/72x72/2714.png" alt="✔" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /> Loose furniture and outdoor fixtures</p>

<p><img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/16.0.1/72x72/2714.png" alt="✔" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /> Pool fencing, gates, and safety features</p>

<p><img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/16.0.1/72x72/2714.png" alt="✔" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /> Existing wear or damage that could worsen during severe weather</p>

<p>Hurricane season also provides a valuable opportunity to <strong>evaluate the overall condition of your pool area</strong> and identify improvements that may help increase durability, functionality, and long-term performance with a future renovation or upgrade. </p>

<hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity"/>

<p>At East Coast Pools &amp; Spas, we work with communities to help improve pool environments for every season.</p>
